All official registration instructions are listed below, along with information for each of the sports we offer. PSD offers a variety of sports throughout the year. To see a list of all athletic opportunities, be sure to check out the PSD Middle School Sports Season Timelines. For 6th grade students, PSD only offers athletic participation for cross country, tennis, golf, wrestling, and track. For all other sports at the 6th-grade level, programming is offered through the City of Fort Collins Recreation Department.
All middle school students participating in PSD Athletics must complete the PSD Middle School Sports Registration Process prior to their first day of practice. Players who do not complete the required paperwork and pay the athletic fee will not be allowed to practice until cleared by our athletic office. Follow the steps below to fully register your child for sports at Kinard. It is recommended that you begin to think about making appointments for your yearly medical/physical exam well in advance of the season, so you have plenty of time to see a doctor to obtain a signature before the sport begins.
Follow the steps below to complete the registration process:
1. Register Online with Sports Engine.
2. Complete Required Annual Physical Exam Form
In addition to the online registration, a physical examination by a doctor and a hard copy of the physician signature form needs to be submitted in the office prior to participation.
All physicals are valid for 365 days and expire one year from the original date of completion. This step must be completed annually.
Students cannot participate in any athletic camps or practices at Kinard until coaches have the medical release form signed by a doctor.
If you do not have access to a doctor and are in need of a sports physical, the Health and Wellness Center offers annual well-child exams and sports physicals. Their phone number is 970-488-4950.
3. Payment of the $140 Participation Fee (per sport)
Payments due prior to the first day of practice/tryouts
Payments can be made online via SchoolPay or with checks made payable to Kinard Middle School
For cut sports - refunds will be issued for students who do not make the final roster
Do you qualify for waived fees? You can submit a request for waivers here. More information about waived fees can be found on this form. Once you have qualified for waived fees you must log into Parent Vue, click on forms, and click permission to share under your child’s name. This allows us to waive the athletic fee.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are on waived fees you still must complete payment through SchoolPay. To do this, log in to SchoolPay, select your child's sport, add that sport to the cart and it will be processed at $0.00 dollars due. This step is required to clear an athlete for participation for our records.
